The Plants, Prison & Potential programme uses RHS archives from the Ruhleben WW1 internment camp to inspire present-day people in prison to consider the role of gardening in their incarceration and its impact on wellbeing. At HMP Send a diverse group of participants took part, including women with ongoing mental health problems and diagnoses of neurodiversity. The resulting poetry, drawing and photography give a sincere and moving insight into experiences of health and horticulture behind bars.
